Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in music or a master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Music.
• Demonstrated evidence of professional development growth through participation in continuing education and related activities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Post-secondary teaching experience preferred.
• Demonstrated success with online and class teaching preferred.
• Strong classroom management skills in grades 6-12.
• Strong knowledge of woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments required.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill full instructional load during fall and spring semesters.
• Plan activities to enhance student learning and exposure to the Northwest Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra (Senior Orchestra).
• Recruitment of students.
• Provide instruction within the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra and its education programs.
• Assist in development and evaluation of curriculum as appropriate.
• Utilize approved textbooks and materials.
• Collaborate with administration, faculty, and staff to ensure student success.
• Provide student guidance and support.
• Engage in institutional service, professional development, and other duties as assigned by the Orchestra administration.
• Complete annual mandatory compliance training.
