Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field required.
Valid Texas Teacher Certificate or out-of-state teaching certificate appropriate for position.
Certification must meet requirements to remain qualified for this role.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain a learning environment; assess student playing abilities and place students in suitable orchestra level.
Organize instrument selection process for beginning orchestra students.
Communicate rules for contests and ensure compliance by students and ensembles.
Improve instructional quality through self-evaluation and new teaching techniques.
Maintain professionalism with staff and community; manage assigned instruments and equipment.
