Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Dahlgren, VA seeks a Senior Specialist, Systems Engineering (Orbital Analyst) to support satellite SSA, orbit determination, and trajectory calculations using MATLAB, Freeflyer, and STK. The analyst will work on national security space programs and may lead tech efforts.

Required: TS/SCI clearance; Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of related experience (or equivalent). Collaborative, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced defense environment.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of related experience; graduate degree with 4+ years or 10+ years without degree.
• Experience with Spacecraft Operations/Orbit Analysis.
• Knowledge of ephemeris and orbit determination.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate orbital models, analyses, and algorithms.
• Support national security space analysis through simulations and tools.
• Collaborate with software teams to implement models and enable user capabilities.
• Develop new algorithms and enhance existing tool capabilities.
• Interface with customers and advise project managers on deliverables.
