Job summary

KBR in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a Senior Orbital Analyst to support Space Domain Awareness missions and analytical activities across a range of operational and technical efforts. The ideal candidate will understand orbital mechanics, astrodynamics, and SDA, and communicate mission-relevant findings clearly.

The analyst will review historical and real-time data, assess satellite activity, and develop defensible assessments to support decision-making. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Astronomy, or related STEM discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 6+ years in orbital analysis, astrodynamics, SDA, space operations, or related technical field.
• Ability to analyze complex data and develop technically defensible conclusions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in time-sensitive environments.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a distributed technical and operational team.
• Proven ability to brief senior military and government leaders.
• Experience supporting operational software tools, visualization platforms, or mission applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply orbital mechanics, astrodynamics, satellite state data to analyze space object behavior.
• Analyze historical and real-time data to identify maneuvers, patterns, trends, anomalous activity.
• Evaluate orbital changes and satellite behavior to generate technical assessments with data quality considerations.
• Communicate analytical findings through clear written products, visualizations, and discussions.
• Collaborate with analysts, operators, government customers, and partners to address needs and events.
• Translate complex orbital analysis into clear, actionable information for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to analytical procedures, workflows, training, and knowledge sharing to improve mission effectiveness.
• Analyze historical and real-time satellite data to identify patterns and characterize behavior.
• Apply creative thinking to hypothesize potential new capabilities or interpretations.
• Provide analytical requirements and feedback to software development for product refinement.
