Job summary

Donnelly & Moore Corporation in New York City is seeking an Oracle Unix/Linux System Administrator for a 12-month government project. The role focuses on managing Oracle Linux/UNIX infrastructure, collaborating with DBAs and WebLogic teams to ensure systems stay up and secure.

Ideal candidates have 6–8 years of hands-on Oracle/Linux experience, Shell scripting skills, and familiarity with Oracle storage, NetBackup, and high-availability configurations.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years' experience as an Oracle Linux system administrator in a large UNIX environment.
• Experience installing, configuring & troubleshooting Linux/Unix OS, LDOMS, ZFS, and zones on prem and cloud environments.
• Experience in Shell scripting and supporting networking services (TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, install, configure, secure, maintain, and support Linux infrastructure systems.
• Analyze resource utilization and tune OS performance.
• Patch server environments on a regular schedule with security updates.
• Assist security team with monitoring OS security and intrusion detection.
• Ensure changes follow Change Management policies.
• Maintain disaster recovery configurations and test DR procedures.
• Perform backups and test recoveries using NetBackup/VEEAM.
• Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot HA environments on Oracle Exadata.
• Provide support to DBAs and application teams for integration.
• Set up batch jobs and system alerts for 24x7 availability.
• Liaise with Oracle and vendors to troubleshoot issues.
• Prepare configurations and share knowledge with team.
