Job summary

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join our Global Database team. You will manage Oracle Server environments, implement backup/recovery, and ensure security and governance across on-prem and cloud platforms.

The role requires 15+ years in Oracle DB administration, experience with RAC/ASM, DATAGUARD, RMAN, and scripting. Remote-friendly with Houston-area preference; on-call rotations are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• 15+ years hands-on experience in enterprise Oracle DB administration.
• Expertise with Oracle RAC/ASM, DATAGUARD, RMAN on Linux and Windows.
• Experience with WebLogic, APEX, Forms/Reports, Enterprise Manager.
• Proficient in shell scripting and scripting languages (Perl, Python, PowerShell).
• Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and capacity planning skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize Oracle Server environments across on-prem and cloud.
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle Server instances per standards.
• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Monitor performance and system health; resolve capacity and reliability issues.
• Oversee database security, access controls, and audit compliance.
• Support Oracle RAC clustering, replication, and Always On Availability Groups.
• Collaborate with infra, storage, and network teams for performance.
• Develop and maintain operational docs and baselines.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
• Ensure IT governance and change management compliance.
