Job summary

BNY is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Engineer to design and support Oracle databases on Exadata and cloud platforms, including Oracle Database on Azure. The role is based in Pittsburgh, PA / Lake Mary, FL, and focuses on high availability, security, and performance optimization.

You will implement automation with Python, Ansible, Terraform and APIs, support migrations, and contribute to cloud transformation initiatives while adhering to security and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of Oracle Database engineering or administration experience.
• Experience with Oracle Exadata and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and support Oracle databases on Exadata and cloud platforms, including Oracle Database on Azure.
• Engineer high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and recovery solutions using RAC, Data Guard, and ZDLRA.
• Implement database security controls including TDE, Oracle Key Vault, auditing, and compliance standards.
• Automate database provisioning, patching, cloning, refreshes, and operational workflows using Python, Ansible, Terraform, and APIs.
• Support database migrations, GoldenGate replication, and cloud transformation initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and optimize performance for mission-critical Oracle databases.
• Participate in vulnerability remediation, platform upgrades, and technology modernization programs.
