Job summary

BNY seeks a Senior Oracle Database Engineer to join our Pittsburgh team. Design, implement, and support Oracle databases on Exadata and cloud platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and reliable operations.

You will lead automation of provisioning and patching with Python, Ansible, Terraform, and APIs, optimize performance, and support migrations and modernization projects across on-prem and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 7+ years of Oracle Database engineering/administration experience.
• Strong expertise with Oracle Database 19c/26ai, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and OEM.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata.
• Experience with TDE, Oracle Key Vault, and database security controls.
• Automation and scripting experience (Python, Ansible, Terraform, Shell).
• Experience supporting Linux-based database environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and support Oracle databases on Exadata and cloud platforms.
• Engineer high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and recovery solutions (RAC, Data Guard, ZDLRA).
• Implement database security controls (TDE, Oracle Key Vault, auditing).
• Automate provisioning, patching, cloning, refreshes, and workflows using Python, Ansible, Terraform, and APIs.
• Support migrations, GoldenGate replication, and cloud transformation efforts.
• Troubleshoot and optimize performance for mission-critical databases.
• Contribute to vulnerability remediation, platform upgrades, and modernization programs.

We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Oracle Database Engineer to join our team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, Lake Mary.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

• Design and support Oracle databases on Exadata and cloud platforms, including Oracle Database@Azure.
• Engineer high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and recovery solutions using RAC, Data Guard, and ZDLRA.
• Implement database security controls including TDE, Oracle Key Vault, auditing, and compliance standards.
• Automate database provisioning, patching, cloning, refreshes, and operational workflows using Python, Ansible, Terraform, and APIs.
• Support database migrations, GoldenGate replication, and cloud transformation initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and optimize performance for mission-critical Oracle databases.
• Participate in vulnerability remediation, platform upgrades, and technology modernization programs.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred10-12 years of related experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
• 7+ years of Oracle Database engineering or administration experience.
• Strong expertise with Oracle Database 19c/26ai, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and OEM.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata.
• Experience with TDE, Oracle Key Vault, and database security controls.
• Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, Terraform, Shell).
• Experience supporting Linux-based database environments.
• Strong database performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Azure, OCI, or hybrid cloud architectures.
