Job summary

Accel BI in Research Triangle Park, NC seeks an experienced Oracle Exadata DBA to manage Exadata on Linux within AWS. You will own application schemas, database design, and high-availability strategies for large-scale, high-volume systems.

Lead performance tuning, backups, patching, and upgrades while collaborating with developers on modernization initiatives and scalable database solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience with Oracle Exadata architecture, Storage Cells, InfiniBand Networking, HCC and related components.
• Experience managing ASM disk groups and storage for Oracle databases.
• 3+ years installing, patching, upgrading, and maintaining Oracle Database software and Exadata components.
• 2+ years tuning Oracle database and Exadata storage-layer performance.
• 7+ years designing and optimizing Oracle database schemas, indexing, and performance.
• 2+ years using OEM or Oracle Cloud Control for monitoring and diagnostics.
• 7+ years SQL development and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Manage Oracle DB environments on Exadata and Linux in AWS (dev, test, prod).
• Collaborate with developers to define data requirements, design schemas, and optimize SQL.
• Lead database strategy and implement best practices for large-scale systems.
• Administer high-availability and disaster recovery with Oracle Data Guard.
• Implement replication solutions such as GoldenGate and ensure backups/restores are reliable.
• Develop and maintain procedures for cloud-based database operations and performance monitoring.
• Provide on-call support and participate in weekend maintenance as required.
