Job summary

ROI Solutions is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator in the Eastern Time Zone to lead strategy, modernization, and performance across Oracle environments. You will shape architecture, security, automation, and observability while collaborating with product reliability teams and a managed services partner.

You will practice strong governance, design scalable systems, and mentor engineers, with a focus on resilient, cost-aware data platforms and cloud adoption.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Oracle database administration experience.
• Advanced Oracle performance tuning and SQL optimization.
• Strong knowledge of RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, and partitioning.
• PL/SQL familiarity to review and advise on code.
• Robust relational DB architecture and data modeling skills.
• Experience with backup, recovery, high availability, and DR testing.
• Experience with security and PCI compliant environments.
• Ability to diagnose complex issues across apps and DB infra.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Set database architecture standards and guide decisions across ROI products and platforms.
• Own multi-year roadmap for capacity, debt, and modernization.
• Evaluate technologies and cloud services for reliability, security, cost.
• Provide senior ownership and escalation for Oracle environments.
• Lead performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting with developers.
• Strengthen monitoring, backup, recovery, HA, and disaster recovery.
• Lead root-cause analysis and participate in on-call rotation.
• Define standards for design, development, documentation, and operations.
• Review schema changes, migrations, and database designs.
• Partner with engineering to improve quality and performance.
• Develop modernization strategy for Oracle environment and cloud migration.
• Automate DBA tasks to reduce debt and complexity; mentor engineers.
• Create documentation, patterns, and automation for shared knowledge.
• Coordinate with managed services provider on roles, SLAs, and escalation.
