Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association).
• Experience in operating room and Level I Trauma preferred.
• Ability to precept and mentor new staff.

Responsibilities

• Handle, label, and process surgical specimens per protocols.
• Set up operating room with sterile fields and instruments.
• Assist team by passing instruments and maintaining sterility.
• Sterilize instruments and supplies with sterile processing team.
• Maintain patient safety and infection prevention standards.
• Monitor equipment and report issues promptly.
• Support nursing staff with patient care and positioning.
• Precept and mentor new staff during orientation.
