Job summary

Houston Methodist seeks an RN III to provide expert professional nursing care and leadership at the bedside and across service lines. The role includes coaching and mentoring staff, leading governance activities, and coordinating education in partnership with management to advance clinical practice.

Responsibilities also include serving as charge nurse, assessing practice needs, and collaborating with physicians and interprofessional teams to optimize patient outcomes and care quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Two years nursing experience in a healthcare environment, one year in the clinical field for which you will be working.
• RN - Texas State Licensure with PVSC Compact Licensure; obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days if establishing residency.
• BLS certification (AHA) mandatory; Magnet ANCC-recognized certification (HM).

Responsibilities

• Leads unit and shared governance activities; serves as charge nurse as needed.
• Mentors staff in clinical and professional practice.
• Coordinates unit and hospital-wide education in partnership with management.
• Ensures effective communication with physicians and interprofessional team.
• Models standards of care and drives quality and safety improvements.
