Job summary

Wilton Re in Norwalk, CT, seeks a Senior/FP&A Analyst to bridge analytics with business management. The role focuses on developing insights to drive data-driven decisions across the organization and improve processes through analytics models and collaboration with internal teams.

The candidate will analyze investment income, expenses, and underwriting results, support budgets and forecasts, and build automated analytic reports. Strong Excel and BI skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience within Life insurance (reinsurance).
• Understanding of US GAAP, US Statutory, and/or Life Insurance tax accounting principles.
• High level of proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Exceptional analytical, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exemplary teamwork skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter: able to initiate, prioritize, and complete assignments with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of investment income, expenses, and underwriting results, and compare against budget and modeled results.
• Prepare reports to communicate financial results to management in clear and concise formats.
• Participate in developing enterprise annual budgets and forecasts.
• Support the accounting and finance stakeholders with automation and build out customized analytic reports for financial and operational reporting.
• Aggregate data points from existing proprietary data warehouse to create relevant reporting outcomes in support of FP&A.
• Perform data analysis to generate reports and recommendations aligned to business needs and objectives.
• Provide results from research to assist management in decision-making.
• Analyze and determine data, system, and program requirements for departmental projects.
• Work with business partners to define and create reporting dashboards and support ongoing data monitoring for financial data across systems.
• Perform analysis of ways to control costs, maintain efficiency, and improve effectiveness of our business processes.

Position Summary

We are looking for a dynamic, agile, and creative individual with strong data and analytics capabilities, who is able to bridge analytics with business management. You will help to architect new approaches that will leverage your data and analytics skills to provide better visibility into financial systems and strategy. You will help to develop insights that enable leadership to make effective, data-driven decisions, with broad impact across the organization. The ability to identify areas for process improvement, and to advocate a well-reasoned and empirically sound perspective to help further business objectives, is essential. This person is a strong listener, able to ensure collated business and technology strategies are reflected in the vision on how to build and operationalize analytics models using technology. This individual will provide hands‑on consultancy, collaboration and support to internal clients and project teams in designing and delivering business and data analytics work. • Experience writing SQL queries and an understanding of data warehouse structures a plus

• This role may be filled at a level dependent on the experience and qualifications of the applicant.
• Base salary/hourly rate range for this position in Connecticut is between $85,000 and $120,000 Please note that specific compensation decisions are based upon a variety of job-related factors as permitted by law, including geographic location, credentials, skills, education, training, and experience.
• Base salary is just one component of Wilton Re’s total compensation package for employees. Additional compensation includes annual performance‑based bonus, 401K with employer contribution, and profit‑sharing program. Employee may also be eligible for long‑term incentives (equity). All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
