ICEYE, a global leader in sovereign intelligence from space, is seeking a Satellite Production Senior Technician, Electronics in Valencia, Spain. You will independently perform advanced electronic assembly, integration, and testing of power, command, and data handling subsystems, while leading frontline troubleshooting and coaching junior technicians to uphold ICEYE’s flight-readiness standards.

You will document results in Jira/MES, review work instructions for accuracy, and drive improvements

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of electronic assembly and test experience in high-reliability environments.
  • Experience reading technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Proven ability to lead troubleshooting and mentor junior staff.
  • Proficient English communication for cross-functional work.

Why this role matters:

As a Senior Production Technician, Electronics, you serve as a technical anchor within ICEYE's Satellite Production Team in Valencia. You will independently execute complex electronic assembly, integration, and testing activities for power, command, and data handling subsystems, leading frontline troubleshooting, ensuring process stability, and elevating team capability by coaching junior technicians. You are responsible for the technical quality of every electronic assembly you touch, ensuring it meets ICEYE's stringent standards for flight readiness.

Your day-to-day responsibilities
  • Perform advanced electronic assembly and integration activities including subsystem integration (power, command, data handling), critical soldering and bonding operations, and complex test setups

  • Lead troubleshooting of build and process issues, collaborating with Specialists, AIT Engineering, and Quality to identify root causes and implement corrective actions for electronic subsystems

  • Operate mechanical and electrical ground support equipment (power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes) to support smooth test operations

  • Maintain precise, real-time documentation of all work performed, recording results in Jira or MES and raising NCRs or redlines where required

  • Review work instructions, travelers, and checklists for accuracy, providing actionable feedback for revision and initiating improvement projects in safety, reliability, and tooling

  • Act as a coach and role model for junior and standard technicians, providing on-the-job training and transferring best practices across the team

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and audit-ready work environment compliant with ESD, safety, and cleanliness standards

What we’re looking for
Must haves:
  • Degree in Electronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience in a high-reliability environment

  • 3+ years of practical experience in electronic assembly and test including soldering, harness routing, and PCB handling, preferably in aerospace or a similar high-reliability sector

  • Experience using lab equipment including power supplies, multimeters, and oscilloscopes

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams

  • Proven ability to lead troubleshooting efforts and mentor junior staff effectively

  • Proficient English (written and spoken) for cross-functional collaboration

Nice to haves:
  • Experience with satellite avionics, power subsystems, and flight-critical command handling

  • Advanced IPC certifications (IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001 Space Addendum)

  • Experience with Atlassian Cloud tools (Jira, Confluence)

  • Aerospace or space industry background

  • Lean and Six Sigma experience
