Job summary

K2 Space Corporation in the United States seeks a mechanical/optomechanical engineer to design and qualify optomechanical assemblies for aerospace payloads. You will mount lenses and mirrors, design supporting structures, and ensure alignment through launch, thermal cycling, and on‑orbit operation.

In this role you will work with optical, thermal, structures, and manufacturing teams, perform trades, develop test campaigns, and build flight hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of mechanical or optomechanical design and analysis.
• Experience mounting optics and designing supporting structures.

Responsibilities

• Design optomechanical assemblies from concept through on-orbit operations.
• Own mounting and alignment of lenses and mirrors with appropriate mounts.
• Lead design reviews and drive hardware development with tests and iterations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet product requirements.
