The candidate will generate specifications, budgets, and procedures to assure alignment with system tolerances, while mentoring junior engineers and guiding design reviews in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 10+ years' experience as a mechanical engineer with optical background.
• Experience with design for assembly and manufacturing techniques.
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as CREO/SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Opto-mechanical engineers who will design and analyze optical payload hardware as part of the Integrated product Team (IPT).
• Work closely with Payload IPT leads and Line of Business (LOB) leadership to understand mission drivers.
• Provide technical mentorship of team members.
