Job summary

PSI Pax, Inc. is seeking a hands-on, senior opto-mechanical engineer to own the manufacturing process for optical payloads.

You will design and implement a mid-volume production line, using data-driven methods to continuously improve assembly and testing. You will collaborate with optical, structural, and thermal engineering teams to ensure payload strength, stiffness, and thermal performance meet launch and on-orbit requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or related technical field.
• 4+ years of experience developing opto-mechanical products from requirements through design, testing and manufacturing.
• Experience designing optical assemblies and hardware for high-reliability space environments; hands-on prototyping and production experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the opto-mechanical manufacturing process for optical payloads.
• Design a production line for mid-volume manufacturing.
• Use data-driven decisions to improve assembly and testing.
• Collaborate with optical, structural, and thermal engineering teams to analyze and ensure payload strength, stiffness, thermal performance, launch survivability, and on-orbit optical performance.
