Job summary

Particle Measuring Systems seeks a Lead Opto-Electronics Engineer to guide the R&D team in very low-level light detection, imaging, and photonic instrumentation. You will set technical direction, lead detector development, and mentor engineers within a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• Significant experience in very low level light detection systems.
• Experience with low-noise amplifier design and circuit architecture.
• Experience in precision PCB layout for sensitive analog systems.
• Strong understanding of photonic detectors and related electronics.

Responsibilities

• Design ultra-low-noise front-end electronics for optical detection systems.
• Define requirements for photonic detectors with vendors.
• Lead development of optical imaging and light collection systems.
• Analyze detector physics and noise sources in systems.
• Research emerging photonics and detector technologies to guide R&D direction.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to staff.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on advanced instrumentation.
• Continuously evaluate processes for efficiency and quality.
• Role may evolve to meet organizational needs.
