Job summary

Particle Measuring Systems in Niwot, Colorado, is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to own system architecture, drive integration across optics, electronics, firmware, and software, and mentor engineers. You will serve as the system-level technical authority, define interfaces, verify performance, and lead cross-functional trades to ensure reliability, manufacturability, and quality.

Qualifications

BS in Engineering/Scientific discipline (Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science) required.
MS or PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

Own system architecture development, including decomposition, interface definition, and performance budgeting across subsystems.
Serve as the system-level technical authority, driving key architecture decisions and trade-offs.
Lead requirements engineering with full traceability from customer needs through verification (JAMA or equivalent).
Drive system-level integration strategy and execution, ensuring performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Define and execute system-level verification and validation strategies, including integration planning and performance characterization.
Mentor engineers and promote systems thinking across disciplines.
