Job summary

IEX is seeking a Senior Market Operations Specialist to join the Options Market Operations team in New York. This hands-on role requires strong knowledge of U.S. options market structure, electronic trading systems, and risk management as you help operate the IEX Options exchange.

You will develop automation, analyze data to resolve client issues, and collaborate with technology, product, compliance, and business teams. The position offers a base salary in the stated range plus bonus and equity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of market operations, trading operations, or related experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. options market structure, electronic trading, and trading systems.
• Comfortable working with complex data sets and using data to troubleshoot issues and inform decisions.
• Interest in developing Python and automation skills, or experience doing so already.
• High attention to detail and sound judgment in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.
• Curious, open-minded, and quick to learn new systems, concepts, and market functionality.
• Willing and able to support a flexible schedule and on-call environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute and continuously improve daily market operations procedures for the IEX Options exchange.
• Develop deep expertise in IEX systems, market functionality, order types, and external member interfaces.
• Support member testing and connectivity in the IEX test environment, including troubleshooting and executing operational requests.
• Analyze trading and operational data to investigate client issues, identify risks, and improve processes.
• Build and maintain automation tools and scripts that make the Market Operations desk more efficient and scalable.
• Review and process member requests, including Obvious Error reviews and other time-sensitive trading issues.
• Partner closely with Technology Operations, Product Management, Business Development, Business Analytics, Quality Assurance, Compliance, and Regulation.
• Participate in industry testing, product initiatives, and business-development efforts as IEX continues to grow its options business.
• Help strengthen the team’s operating procedures, documentation, and risk controls.
