Job summary

Thorlabs in Newton, NJ seeks a skilled manufacturing specialist to support production of photonics components. You will operate precision equipment, prepare materials, perform in-process measurements, and maintain high-quality standards with minimal scrap.

The role requires hands-on experience in a production setting, strong attention to detail, and the ability to train others while adhering to safety guidelines. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of manufacturing experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate optical manufacturing equipment such as cutting, edging, grinding and polishing.
• Measure and analyze parts using metrology devices (hand tools, microscopes, test plates, autocollimators, profilometers, interferometers).
• Troubleshoot and resolve process issues and participate in process development with Engineering.
• Train less experienced team members and cross-train to multiple production areas.
• Maintain records in Manufacturing Database and comply with safety policies.
