Job summary

Gooch & Housego PLC in Fremont, CA is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Manager for Fabrication & Bonding to lead high-mix, low-volume optical fabrication operations and drive safe, repeatable production of precision components.

You will partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Program Management to support new product introductions, technology transfers and continuous improvement, while developing people and delivering measurable gains in yield, throughput and cycle time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or related field.
• 10+ years of manufacturing leadership in photonics/precision manufacturing.
• Experience leading fabrication, bonding or assembly in high-mix, low-volume environments.
• Experience with new product introductions, tech transfers and new processes/equipment.
• Knowledge of optical fabrication and bonding technologies preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement with measurable results.
• Familiarity with AS9100/ISO quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead fabrication and bonding operations to ensure safe, on-time production.
• Set objectives, staffing, and performance expectations for safety, quality, and productivity.
• Monitor metrics like yield, throughput, cycle time, and labor utilization.
• Lead supervisors and engineers, developing a high-performing team.
• Drive readiness for new products, tech transfers, and ramp-ups.
• Champion Lean and Six Sigma to reduce waste and improve process capability.
