Optical Transport Engineer at ManpowerGroup—Experis division is seeking a hands-on professional for Denver, CO (preferred) or Mt. Laurel, NJ.

You'll design and validate backbone DWDM paths across multi-vendor networks, and provision services on Nokia and Ciena platforms. Candidates should have 3–5 years of experience, strong OSNR/dispersion/power budgets knowledge, and excellent documentation and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in DWDM/optical transport networks.
• Experience provisioning/troubleshooting on Nokia/Ciena platforms.
• Ability to design end-to-end wavelength services across multi-vendor networks.
• Strong understanding of OSNR, dispersion, and power budgets.
• Excellent documentation and collaboration with customers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end feasibility studies and path design for backbone wavelength services, including route selection, regeneration requirements, optical amplification, and reach validation.
• Engineer optical spectrum across the complete path, including wavelength assignment, fixed-grid and flex-grid alignment, and spectrum utilization to maximize backbone efficiency while preserving future capacity.
• Provision end-to-end wavelength services across a multi-vendor optical network, configuring and turning up services on Nokia and Ciena platforms.
• Perform comprehensive validation of wavelength services before customer handoff, including optical power verification, performance testing, and error analysis.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues across multi-vendor optical networks, coordinating with field operations, network teams, and vendor support to resolve faults efficiently.
