Job summary

Lightera seeks a Senior Optical Technician for the Somerset, NJ Production Realization Center. You will perform hands-on fabrication and processing of specialty fiber optic devices, following procedures and product specs, and conduct optical measurements to ensure compliance with quality standards.

You will work with engineers and technicians, learn new lab methods, and support multiple workstations as needed in a safe, organized environment with generous benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical field (Optics, Photonics, Physics, Engineering or Electronics).
• Minimum 2 years in a lab, manufacturing, optics/photonics, or fiber optics.
• Ability to follow technical procedures and specifications.
• Experience with fiber optics or optical lab equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on fabrication and processing of specialty fiber optic devices per procedures and specs.
• Prepare optical fiber and perform grating fabrication, recoating, annealing, and related processes.
• Conduct optical measurements using spectrum analyzers, lasers, and related equipment.
• Collect, record, and analyze process and test data to support production and R&D.
