Job summary

LIGHTERA is seeking a motivated and innovative R&D Engineer to join our optical fiber research team in New Jersey. You will design and execute experiments, develop measurement systems, analyze data, and support research and manufacturing initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem solver with hands-on lab experience and a passion for advancing new technologies in a fast-paced environment, capable of documenting results clearly and contributing across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a related technical discipline.
• Strong optics and measurement techniques.
• Experience in designing, conducting, and analyzing laboratory experiments.
• Programming in Python, C for automation and data acquisition.
• Lab instrumentation interfacing with control systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and optimize optical fiber experiments.
• Build and improve lab test setups and measurement systems.
• Analyze data and prepare technical reports.
• Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and processes.
• Support fabrication processes and equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives.
• Develop software tools for data collection and experiment control.
• Maintain documentation and safe, organized work areas.
