Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Optical Physics, Optical Sciences, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5-15 years of experience, ideally in semiconductor capital equipment industry with track record.
• Theoretical and working knowledge of optical physics and system engineering.
• Knowledge of industry standard design and analysis tools like Zemax or Code V, Python, MATLAB.
• Experimental lab and engineering design skills, DUV and imaging optics experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of optical, mechanical, electrical, SW, algo, and system engineers to deliver modules and subsystems of next generation optical inspection and metrology tools.
• Collaborate with program management, marketing, hardware and SW & Algo teams.
• Convert market & program requirements into high level and detailed system requirements.
• Develop conceptual optical designs, light and error budgets to support development.
• Develop novel technical solutions to address market needs.
• Identify and troubleshoot a range of complex engineering problems and drive teams to implement solutions.
• Provide effective documentation and conduct system design reviews per development process.
• Develop vendors and suppliers to deliver optical components and modules.
• Develop alignment methods and testing benches to test components and subsystems.
• Collaborate with SW development, manufacturing, reliability, and service teams.
