ASML in Wilton, CT seeks a Senior Optical Sensor Design Engineer to develop advanced optical sensors for semiconductor metrology systems. You will join the YieldStar Sensor Group and work across light sources, detectors, fiber optics, electronics, and signal-processing software to create reliable sensor solutions.

The role requires deep expertise in CODE V/Zemax, MATLAB, and physical optics, with a track record of delivering complex sensor systems in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in optical engineering, physics, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree in optical engineering, physics, or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Doctoral degree in optical engineering, physics, or related field.
• Optical design and tolerancing using CODE V, Zemax, or comparable software.
• Physical optics modeling using MATLAB or comparable software.
• Optical sensor alignment using collimators, mechanical measurement tools, or interferometers.
• Optical metrology test design, test stand development, and hardware integration.
• Optical technologies including polarization devices, relay optics, objectives, light sources, fibers, cameras, and detectors.
• Data processing, performance trending, and root-cause analysis.

Responsabilités

• Design and improve optical sensors operating in complex environments.
• Use physics, mathematics, electronics, mechanics, and software to translate concepts into sensor solutions.
• Design and model optical systems using CODE V, Zemax, or comparable software.
• Perform optical tolerancing and physical optics simulations.
• Develop polarization models and error budgets to evaluate performance.
• Process sensor data using MATLAB or similar tools.
• Build, align, test, qualify, and troubleshoot complex optical sensor systems.
• Design test stands, budgets, hardware selection, and realization.
• Investigate issues, determine root causes, and support new product introduction and field escalations.
