Job summary

ASML in Wilton, Connecticut is seeking an Optical Sensor Engineer to advance optical sensing for semiconductor equipment, blending optics, physics, data analysis and hands‑on testing.

You will design and build optical sensor systems, align and test components in lab environments, analyze data to improve performance, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive system innovations. This role requires strong English communication and on‑site work with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in physics, optics, EE, ME, chemical engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Master’s or Doctoral degree also listed as preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop optical sensor systems integrating light sources, detectors, optics, electronics and software.
• Build, align, test, and troubleshoot optical and photonic systems in lab environments.
• Analyze data to identify issues and improve sensor functionality.
• Develop test plans and investigate root causes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across optics, software, electronics, and systems.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
