Job summary

Ayar Labs in San Jose, CA is seeking a Senior Manager, Procurement to own sourcing for photonic components and materials used in our TeraPHY and SuperNova products. You will manage supplier strategy, multi-source programs, and long-term agreements to optimize cost and supply continuity.

You will collaborate with Engineering, NPI, Quality and Operations to support new product introductions, track material costs, and drive reductions through value engineering and should-cost modeling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or related field.
• 8+ years procurement or strategic sourcing experience, incl. optical/ photonics components.
• Direct sourcing for optical transceivers, silicon photonics, lasers, or related components.
• Experience negotiating supply agreements and driving cost reductions.
• Experience supporting NPI and scaling supply chains in hardware startups or fabless environments.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end procurement strategy for TeraPHY and SuperNova BOMs.
• Identify and qualify suppliers of photonic components and substrates.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and long-term supply agreements.
• Support NPI and transition from prototype to volume production.
• Monitor supply risk and manage supplier performance with scorecards.
• Coordinate with Engineering, QA, and Operations on material cost targets.
• Procure optical test equipment and lab consumables.
