Job summary

Arycs Technologies is seeking a Senior/Staff Supplier Development Engineer to lead qualification and scaling of suppliers for optical module technologies, including transceivers and coherent optics. You will work across engineering, manufacturing and supply chain to ensure targets in performance, yield, cost and scalability from NPI to high-volume production.

Ideal candidates have 7–12+ years in supplier development or related fields, hands-on experience with lasers, PICs and fiber optics, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
7–12+ years in supplier development, manufacturing engineering, or supplier quality.
Experience in optical modules, optoelectronics, or semiconductor/photonics manufacturing.
Experience with contract manufacturers (e.g., Fabrinet, Foxconn, Flex).
Willingness to travel 30–50% to supplier sites.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end supplier development for optical modules and subcomponents (e.g., OSA, lasers, PICs, packaging).
Evaluate and qualify new suppliers across technical capability, manufacturing readiness, and process control maturity.
Drive supplier industrialization from prototype → NPI → volume production.
Work with contract manufacturers and suppliers to develop scalable manufacturing processes, improve yield, reduce cycle time and cost.
Define and enforce supplier quality requirements, including qualification plans and testing.
Drive continuous improvement in defect reduction and reliability.
Partner with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing to align design, readiness, and ramp.
Support supplier roadmap development and dual-sourcing strategies.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including capacity constraints and IP dependencies.
Drive cost reduction initiatives through process and design optimization.
