Job summary

Leonardo DRS, Inc. is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead sourcing, procurement, and supplier management for optics and precision electro-optical components.

The role emphasizes negotiating with suppliers, managing complex supply chains, and ensuring compliance with ITAR, DFARS, and FAR requirements. You will collaborate across engineering, quality, contracts, and legal teams to align with program objectives, mitigate supplier risk, and drive cost efficiency while maintaining high quality and on-time

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5 years of DFAR/FAR purchasing experience in aerospace/defense.
• Experience purchasing optical components or precision electro-optical hardware.
• Strong negotiation skills and supplier performance management.
• Familiarity with ITAR, DFARS, and government procurement regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing, procurement, and supplier management for optics and EO components.
• Issue RFQs, RFPs, and POs; analyze quotes for cost and compliance.
• Maintain supplier relationships and monitor delivery, quality, and performance.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, program management, contracts, and legal.
• Input procurement data into ERP systems accurately and timely.
