Job summary

Oracle seeks a Senior Optical Engineer to join the Optical Network Engineering team to build and scale Oracle's Optical Transport Network for cloud and AI infrastructure. You will drive metro optical transport solutions, train teams, and ensure uptime and availability of the metro network.

You will lead lifecycle programs, act as SME across functions, decompose architectures into scalable designs, and own requirements, designs, and documentation, while mentoring staff and collaborating with

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in network infrastructure engineering in optics
• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering; Masters preferred
• Experience with data center engineering cabling is a plus
• Product lifecycle management experience is a plus
• Python coding and scripting is a plus

Responsibilities

• Define high-level objectives and milestones in network lifecycle programs.
• Coordinate work of two to three engineers.
• Advise project managers and liaise with leadership.
• Collaborate across organization as SME.
• Own requirements, designs, and documentation.
• Decompose architectures into detailed designs.
• Lead network solutions with multiple service layers.
• Partner with service teams for monitoring, automation, deployment.
• Provide Tier 3 escalation for network incidents.
• Lead root-cause analysis efforts.
• Develop scripts to automate tasks.
• Contribute to automation design and SDLC.
• Mentor junior staff.
• Collaborate with vendor engineers on hardware tech.
• Participate in RFQs/RFPs development.
• Coordinate with product teams and PMO.
