Job summary

Arycs Technologies is seeking an Optical Module Product Engineer to own manufacturing performance, yield, and volume-readiness as products move from engineering release to scalable production. You will bridge design, operations, quality, supply chain, and overseas contract manufacturers, using data-driven methods to diagnose yield loss and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field; advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in optical module, optical transceiver, photonics, or related high‑precision electro‑optical product manufacturing.
• Direct experience supporting optical module production in a contract manufacturing environment, preferably with overseas manufacturing partners in Asia.
• Proven success improving manufacturing yield and resolving production issues, and transitioning products from NPI into volume manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of optical module architectures, optical engines, laser/photodiode integration, fiber attach, optical alignment, and high-speed interfaces.
• Experience interpreting production test data, optical performance data, failure analysis results, reliability data, and process capability metrics.
• Ability to communicate across time zones with engineering, operations, suppliers, customers, and contract manufacturers.

Responsibilities

• Own production yield performance for assigned optical module products, including yield reporting and root-cause investigation.
• Lead transition from NPI and pilot builds into volume manufacturing with process and test readiness.
• Provide hands-on technical support to overseas contract manufacturers, including issue resolution and ramp support.
• Analyze optical, electrical, thermal, mechanical, and test data to identify yield detractors.
• Drive problem solving using 8D, FMEA, DOE, SPC, and other data-driven methods.
• Collaborate with test engineering to improve production test coverage and data collection.
• Work with design, firmware, quality, and supply chain to implement corrective actions and changes.
• Support manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process controls, and release criteria.
• Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, cycle time, and production escapes.
• Participate in customer and internal escalations related to production quality and manufacturability.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred

Strong technical understanding of optical module architectures, optical engines, laser and photodiode integration, fiber attach, optical alignment, high-speed electrical interfaces, and module-level test

Experience interpreting production test data, optical performance data, failure analysis results, reliability data, and process capability metrics

Ability to communicate clearly with engineering teams, operations teams, suppliers, customers, and contract manufacturers across time zones

Willingness to travel internationally to support production ramps, yield improvement activities, supplier reviews, and CM issue resolution
