Job summary
Onto Innovation in Milpitas, CA seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to develop new optical metrology technologies and optimize existing products. You will collaborate with software, hardware, and applications scientists to define specs and performance requirements for systems development.
The role includes designing experiments, validating requirements, and supporting on-site installation of metrology tools with travel <15%.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Engineering or Sciences with a focus on optical physics.
- 2-3 years of experience in complex optical systems, analysis, and applications development including broadband light sources for spectroscopy and ellipsometry.
- Experience with precision optical and optomechanical components.
- Proficiency in data analysis using Python, MATLAB, etc.
- Experience with semiconductor capital equipment including optical processing, metrology or inspection products.
Responsibilities
- Align, optimize, and validate complex optical systems.
- Develop best operational methods for tool performance optimization.
- Design and conduct experiments to characterize and improve optical metrology systems.
- Develop action plans and execute in a timely manner.
- Generate internal and external technical presentations.
