Job summary

Omnitron Sensors is seeking a motivated engineer to work on a disruptive optical MEMS product focusing on Optical Circuit Switch (OCS) development and innovation. The role covers OCS system design, optical design, and verification, with emphasis on R&D problem solving and system architecture.

Ideal candidates hold MS/Ph.D. in a relevant field, have 5+ years of industry experience, and possess LiDAR system expertise along with experience using Zemax and FPGA-based signal processing.

Qualifications

• MS/Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Optical Engineering.
• 5+ years of industry experience or equivalent.
• Experience with LiDAR systems and different lidar topologies.
• Experience with Zemax or equivalent optical design tool.

Responsibilities

• Learn and develop new OCS systems architectures through trade studies, link budget analysis and modeling.
• Conduct performance evaluation and optimization of electro-optical systems design using simulations.
• Propose novel design concepts to overcome technical bottlenecks.
• Distill subsystem requirements from complex system-level specs.
• Design optical subsystems for monostatic and bistatic configurations.
• Develop design and validation of optical and system tests.

Education

MS/Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Optical Engineering

5+ years of industry experience or equivalent

Experience with LiDAR systems
