Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a senior technical leader for OCS products, guiding them from R&D to NPI. The role emphasizes validating subsystems, improving electro-optical performance, and ensuring manufacturability and reliability.

You will mentor teams, address complex root causes, and collaborate with internal and external partners across design reviews, qualification, and production ramp. You will leverage deep expertise in optical circuits, switching, and fiber-optic systems, with strong data

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Applied Physics, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in optical communications, photonic systems, or related technical leadership roles.
• Demonstrated experience in system-level optical architecture, validation, manufacturing scale-up, and cross-functional execution.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with leadership ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership for OCS products from R&D to NPI.
• Drive validation and characterization strategy for OCS subsystems and assemblies.
• Support test development, automation, and data analysis to improve coverage and throughput.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions across optics, electronics, mechanics, packaging, thermal, and software interfaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers for design reviews, qualification, NPI, and ramp activities.
• Serve as a senior technical interface translating system needs into actionable recommendations and execution plans.
