Job summary

Bruker is seeking a talented Optical-Mechanical Engineer in San Jose to design, develop, and optimize optical-mechanical systems. You will collaborate across engineering disciplines to deliver high-performance solutions for microscopy illumination and imaging.

You will design precision components, perform tolerance analysis, and lead design reviews while ensuring manufacturability and reliability in variable environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Proven experience designing mechanical systems and components.
• Proficient in SolidWorks; SolidEdge is a plus.
• Experience with FEA/CFD simulations (Ansys).
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Hands-on with measurement equipment and testing methods.

Responsibilities

• Design precision optical-mechanical components and assemblies.
• Lead design reviews and generate drawings, BOMs, ECOs.
• Ensure manufacturability and serviceability.
• Perform stack-up and tolerance analysis for extreme conditions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems.
• Develop and test prototypes to validate concepts.
