Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with 3+ years; or a PhD with 1+ year.
• Active U.S. Government - Secret security clearance at time of application.
• Experience with optical systems used in imaging, sensing, or seeker applications.
• Proficiency with optical modeling tools (ZEMAX, Code V, FRED) for design, analysis, and tolerancing.
• Experience with 3D CAD tools (CREO, NX, SolidWorks); ANSYS Mechanical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and analysis of optical systems for imaging and sensing applications.
• Perform optical performance analyses across environmental and operational conditions.
• Develop and maintain optical error budgets including alignment, tolerances, and thermal effects.
• Lead SILOS analyses with structural and thermal teams to maintain optical performance.
• Define optical requirements and allocate tolerances across system, subsystem, and components.
