Job summary

CACI International Inc. is seeking an Optical/Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead in Danbury, CT.

The role focuses on leading a team of Optical Fabrication Engineers within the Manufacturing Engineering Department, providing technical input and shop-floor support for national security projects. The ideal candidate will have an engineering degree, 7+ years of experience (or 5 years optics fabrication), and strong CAD/PLM and ERP skills.

Qualifications

Required: Engineering degree (Mechanical, Optical, Materials Science, or Manufacturing).
7 years of full-time work experience minimum, or 5 years directly related to optics fabrication.
Background in Aerospace or Defense with low-volume, high-value production.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes involving CNC, grinding, and polishing.
Skilled CAD and PLM user (PTC Creo Parametric and Windchill preferred).
ERP experience (SAP preferred).
Experience in writing work orders and procedures for fabrication and assembly.
Comfortable presenting ideas to Product/Program or Functional Leadership.

Responsibilities

Lead Manufacturing Engineer on IPT, including tooling/fixture design and shop-floor support.
Provide cost and schedule ROMs from IPT-derived requirements for new proposals.
Develop cross-functional relationships and coordinate program schedules with IPT leads.
Supervise a medium-sized team of Optical Fabrication Engineers; report to Dept Manager.
Handle HR, payroll, timekeeping, and weekly reporting; grow the team.
