Job summary

Upgrade Resources in New Hampshire seeks an Optical Applications Engineering Manager to lead four Optical Engineers onsite with some remote work flexibility. You will work with Sales, Marketing and Engineering to develop system designs and cost estimates to meet customer specifications.

The ideal candidate has deep photonics experience, strong leadership, and excellent technical writing skills. Travel about 10% and flexible on-site work near central New Hampshire are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in a technical field with a strong learning mindset.
• Photonics experience in optics, radiometry, photometry, color science, imaging devices or related areas.
• Advanced technical writing ability and strong interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of four Optical Engineers (onsite and remote).
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Engineering to design system concepts with cost estimates to meet customer specifications.
• Troubleshoot advanced customer issues across applications.
• Develop market knowledge of LED performance and applications.
• Support marketing and sales through professional customer interactions.
• Plan and develop advanced training and support tools.
• Maintain cross-department relationships to advance R&D of products.
• Review product applications and provide market feedback to Marketing, Sales, Engineering.
• Monitor competitive products and share insights with the company.
• Represent the company at trade shows and conferences.
