Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation seeks an Operations Technical Instructor II to design, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate training programs for its operations team. You will provide technical and operator qualification training across line locating, leak survey, pressure testing, cathodic protection, and pipeline safety, ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, PHMSA, and related standards.

You will identify training needs, develop new materials, conduct instructor-led sessions, and maintain accurate

Qualifications

7+ years in the gas industry with operations background
5+ years of experience in coaching, training, or education
Knowledge of gas operations including construction, maintenance, distribution, and transmission
Experience in training, mentoring, or instructing with ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Strong presentation and interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication

Responsibilities

Design, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate training programs for operations
Provide technical and operator qualification training to operations team members
Identify training needs and create new materials on operations, safety, and quality
Conduct instructor-led training and evaluations per OSHA, DOT, PHMSA requirements
Maintain training records and monitor operator qualification expirations
Evaluate student performance and training effectiveness
Provide guidance to instructional staff and support regulatory compliance
