Children's National Medical Center is seeking a Senior Ophthalmic Technician to perform advanced ophthalmic testing and support complex patient cases in a busy pediatric ophthalmology clinic in Washington, DC. The role includes overseeing clinical staff, maintaining equipment, and coordinating with biomedical engineering for repairs.

The position requires a minimum of five years in pediatric ophthalmology, COT certification, and strong skills in retinoscopy, perimetry, and OCT.

Competenze

• HS diploma or GED with ophthalmic assistant/technician training.
• Minimum of five years in pediatric ophthalmology clinic experience.
• Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) required and maintained through a certifying agency.

Mansioni

• Perform visual fields and visual acuity testing and other exam evaluations as listed.
• Assist physicians in special procedures and difficult examinations.
• Oversee inventory of lenses, instruments, and eye drops; coordinate maintenance with Bio-medical Engineering.
• Order and dispense contact lenses to patients.
• Supervise and orient residents and fellows during ophthalmic examinations.
