Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician Supervisor to work with an ophthalmic medical team to capture images of patients’ retinas and other ocular structures, aiding diagnosis and treatment planning. The role requires supervising the ophthalmology staff and ensuring high-quality imaging for clinical and research use.

The candidate will oversee equipment maintenance, image acquisition workflows, and collaboration with surgical and research teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in related field.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Make, edit, and maintain digital 2D/3D and video images for the Department of PlasticSurgery for surgical planning, documentation, research, publication and web promotion.
• Photograph images for web services and brochures.
• Supervise ophthalmology team members such as Ophthalmic techs and Ophthalmic imagers.
• Research, select, and maintain cameras, studio lighting equipment, backgrounds, posing platforms, photo printers, computers, software, and file storage options.
