Job summary

The Illinois Department of Corrections seeks an experienced corrections leader to serve as Assistant Warden of Operations at Centralia Correctional Center in Centralia, IL. You will oversee security, facility operations, and support services to maintain a safe, efficient institution.

Reporting to the Warden, you will set policies, supervise managers, coordinate dietary, discipline, and logistics, and travel for meetings.

Qualifications

• Requires four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in law enforcement, criminology, penology or related field.
• Requires four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a law enforcement organization or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement institutional rules, regulations, directives, policies, and procedures to ensure proper operation.
• Plan, organize, and direct the overall Operations function and their managers, including security, physical plant operations, dietary services, discipline, and logistics.
• Serve as full line supervisor
• Conduct routine and unscheduled safety, health, sanitation, and security inspection tours
• Chair the Adjustment Committee and decide on disciplinary problems involving infractions by individuals in custody.
• Travel to management meetings and trainings and speak to groups about institution programs.
• Perform other duties within scope of the duties enumerated above.
