Job summary

IDOC seeks an experienced corrections leader to serve as Assistant Warden of Operations at Decatur Correctional Center. Lead critical facility operations, security, and support services while advancing public safety, staff development, and inmate programs.

This in‑person, full‑time role requires a four‑year college degree and four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in law enforcement or corrections. 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. schedule, in office.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in law enforcement, criminology, penology or a related field.
• Requires four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a law enforcement, correctional facility, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Assistant Warden of Operations.
• Plans, organizes, and directs the overall Operations functions and their managers, including security, physical plant operations, dietary services, individuals in custody discipline, and other miscellaneous logistical support services.
• Serves as full-line supervisor.
• Travels to attend management meetings, trainings, and speak to groups regarding the institution programs.
