Job summary

State of Illinois is hiring an experienced corrections leader as Assistant Warden of Operations at Centralia Correctional Center. The role leads operations, security, and support services to maintain a safe and well-managed environment.

You will work within a leadership team to implement policies and ensure effective daily operations. The position requires a four-year college education and substantial administrative experience in law enforcement or corrections.

Qualifications

• Requires four years of college, preferably with courses in law enforcement, criminology, penology or a related field.
• Four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a law enforcement, correctional facility, or related organization.

Responsibilities

• Provides input into development and implementation of institutional rules, regulations, directives, policies, and procedures.
• Plans, organizes, and directs the overall Operations function and managers (security, plant operations, dietary services, discipline, logistics).
• Serves as a full line supervisor.
• Conducts routine and unscheduled safety, health, sanitation, and security inspections.
• Chair of the Adjustment Committee, decides on disciplinary issues involving inmates.
• Travels to attend management meetings and training, and to speak to groups about programs.
• Performs other duties within the scope of duties enumerated above.
