Nyla Technology Solutions is seeking a Systems & Operations Support Engineer to join the ANDS team in Columbia, Maryland. The role blends Systems Administration with Operations Support to ensure data reliability, cloud/on-prem service health, and rapid incident resolution across the project lifecycle.

A TS/SCI Polygraph clearance is required. This 24/7 watchfloor position operates on a rotating 12-hour shift (6:00–18:00 / 18:00–06:00).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in data analytics, intelligence studies, computer science, finance/economics, or related field with 6+ years of data analytics or financial intelligence experience.
• Or a High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of hands-on intelligence analysis, financial tracking, and data discovery experience.

ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TS/SCI POLYGRAPH LEVEL IS REQUIRED

We have an immediate need for a versatile Systems & Operations Support Engineer to join our ANDS team in supporting continuous application health and watchfloor operations. In this blended role, you will bridge the gap between Systems Administration and Operations Support—ensuring data reliability, maintaining cloud/on-prem service health, and providing rapid incident resolution across the entire project lifecycle.

Shift Schedule Requirement

This position supports 24/7 watchfloor operations and operates on a rotating shift schedule (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM / 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM).

The annual base salary range for this role is $152,000-$180,000 (USD), which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.

Required Skills

• Linux Systems Administration: Hands-on experience performing basic to intermediate Linux sysadmin tasks (CLI navigation, service management, log parsing, process inspection, and system resource tracking).
• AWS Cloud Operations: Experience using the AWS Console or AWS CLI for routine operational tasks, instance health checks, and server management.
• Operations & Watchfloor Support: Experience in 24/7 watchfloor, NOC, or operations center environments monitoring application health, dashboards, and error logs.
• Application Troubleshooting: Demonstrated ability to investigate service degradations, diagnose failed dataflows, and perform root-cause analysis across configurations or codebases.
• Shift Work Flexibility: Ability and willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule (6 AM - 6 PM / 6 PM - 6 AM) for 24/7 coverage.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Intelligence Studies, Computer Science, Finance/Economics, or a related discipline, PLUS 6+ years of specialized data analytics or financial intelligence experience OR High School Diploma / GED, PLUS 10+ years of hands-on intelligence analysis, financial tracking, and data discovery experience in lieu of a degree.

Desired Skills

• Scripting & Automation: Familiarity writing simple Bash or Python scripts to automate repetitive system administration or log-checking tasks.
• Containerization Basics: Exposure to containerized environments (Docker, Podman) and checking containerized service statuses.
• Agile Workflow & Ticketing: Experience using the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence) or enterprise ticketing systems for incident tracking and documentation.
