Job summary

Forward Majority, a Washington, DC area political nonprofit, seeks a Director of Operations & People to lead budgeting, compliance, payroll, and HR functions. Reporting to the CEO, you will shape operational strategy, manage external partners, and build scalable systems to support program delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in operations, nonprofit administration, finance, HR/people operations, compliance, or a related field.
• Experience in a senior operations, administration, finance, HR, or organizational leadership role.
• Strong track record managing complex operational functions and external service providers.

Responsibilities

• Lead organizational and financial operations, including budgeting and variance analysis.
• Oversee tax, compliance, and audit activities, coordinating with external accountants and consultants.
• Manage grants and inter-entity transactions between 501(c)(4) and PAC, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
• Oversee payroll and benefits administration, including relationships with Justworks and benefits providers.
• Provide leadership across HR, people operations, and organizational infrastructure.
• Partner with CEO and leadership to build scalable processes and controls.
