Job summary

Ashley Furniture is seeking a Senior Operations Manager - Bedding at the Verona, MS facility to provide executive operational leadership for bedding and mattress manufacturing. This role will drive safety, output, quality and cost performance across all shifts.

You will apply Lean principles, Kaizen initiatives, and strong budget management to optimize production and building high-performing teams. A bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in high-volume manufacturing are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or Business Administration.
• 7+ years of manufacturing ops management experience in bedding/furniture.
• Six Sigma/Lean certification or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Lead all bedding manufacturing shifts and departments to meet production schedules.
• Drive Lean manufacturing, line balancing, and Kaizen improvements.
• Champion zero-incident safety culture and ensure compliance.
• Manage plant budgets, labor efficiency, scrap reduction, and investments.
• Recruit, mentor, and grow production supervisory and operational teams.

About the Opportunity

Ashley Furniture is hiring a Senior Operations Manager - Bedding at the Verona, MS manufacturing facility. In this role, you will provide executive operational leadership for bedding and mattress manufacturing operations, driving world-class safety, output, quality, and cost performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Lead all manufacturing shifts and departments within the bedding division to achieve aggressive production schedules.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive Lean manufacturing principles, line balancing, and Kaizen initiatives to optimize cycle times.
• Safety Culture: Champion a zero-incident safety culture, enforcing safety procedures and environmental compliance.
• Budget & Cost Management: Manage plant operational budgets, labor efficiency, scrap reduction, and equipment investments.
• Talent Development: Recruit, mentor, and build high-performing production supervisory and operational teams.

Candidate Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or Business Administration.
• Experience: 7+ years of manufacturing operations management experience, ideally in bedding, furniture, or high-volume assembly.
• Skills: Proven operational leadership, Six Sigma / Lean certifications, strategic thinking, and team-building capability.
