ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
- Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
- Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Manages and evaluates machine resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime.
- Strives to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines.
- Provides motivation, support and guidance to all employees.
- Communicates any problems or obstacles to senior management.
- Establishes workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity.
- Creates schedules for employees to ensure optimum staffing levels.
- Enforces and complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), safety guidelines, and quality assurance and food safety programs.
- Reviews ongoing performance results to targets, takes corrective measures with authorization, and escalates as needed.
- Participates in daily, weekly, monthly and annual planning processes as appropriate.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees.
- Performs all necessary supervisory functions to manage the personnel assigned efficiently.
- Communicates areas of accountability and performance expected of personnel assigned.
- Determines standards of performance as a basis to review progress of personnel assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Manages all employees of the department and is responsible for performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees the plant’s Food Safety & Quality Management Systems, provides guidance to staff to ensure manufacturing meets safety and quality requirements, and prevents distribution of non‑compliant products.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in operations management, Business Administration, or a related field.
5‑7 years of prior operations management experience, including forecasting, scheduling, and real‑time operations management; experience in industries regulated by FDA and/or USDA is preferred.

- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and production employees. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
